GTT Energy strengthens its offering with the launch of the LNG Performance Centre and next-generation LNG as fuel solution

Paris, 15 September 2026 – GTT announces two major developments within GTT Energy, the Group business unit dedicated to containment and energy management systems: the launch of the LNG Performance Centre, a new service ecosystem designed to support ship-owners and charterers in optimising LNG carrier fleet performance and cargo management, as well as the introduction of next-generation LNG as fuel solution for container ships featuring 2 barg[1] technology.
An LNG Performance Centre dedicated to LNG carrier fleet management
Enhancing the management of LNG operations on board LNG carriers is becoming increasingly strategic, with the potential to improve operational performance and unlock new opportunities for value creation.
GTT Energy is therefore launching the LNG Performance Centre, an ecosystem of services specifically designed for LNG carriers to address ship-owners’, charterers’ and crews’ need for greater visibility into vessel operations. The LNG Performance Centre will provide an integrated approach built around three pillars: cargo management, voyage optimisation and containment system performance monitoring. The offering will combine advice from experts and seasoned captains, available 24/7, with a suite of digital solutions underpinned by GTT’s proprietary data and advanced models. These services will foster a more proactive approach to fleet management, helping to preserve and maximise cargo value, improve operating efficiency, support regulatory compliance and reduce their environmental footprint.
GTT Energy’s containment technologies currently equip 86% of the LNG carrier fleet in operation worldwide. This installed base represents nearly 20,000 cumulative years of operational experience at sea, together with extensive associated data and proprietary thermodynamic models.
This initiative marks a further step in GTT Energy’s development of services covering the entire LNG carrier lifecycle, with increasing integration of data and analytics across the LNG value chain.
Next-generation LNG as fuel solution for container ships: maximising cargo capacity and operational flexibility
To facilitate LNG fuel tank integration and help shipyards shorten design and construction schedules, GTT Energy is introducing a new LNG as fuel containment solution with standardised cubic geometry for container ships. Designed to enable a higher degree of automation during construction, this solution maximises the space available for cargo, helping improve overall vessel economics.
The tank’s membrane containment system is also designed to enhance operational performance, with an operating pressure that can now reach 2 barg. It has recently received Approvals in Principle (AiPs) from Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas[2]. Developed to meet shore power requirements and environmental regulations, this tank offers greater flexibility by extending holding time during port stays with low or no gas consumption. Digital monitoring of tank and fuel conditions throughout voyages will further support compliant LNG fuel operations.
This new offering builds on GTT Energy’s experience in the cruise ship segment, including tanks with a design pressure of 2 barg that have been in operation for more than five years.
